"Rearcross FC - Celebrating 50 Years of Soccer in the Slieve Felims"

Launch took place last week at events in Rearcross and at the FAI AGM in Clonmel, “Rearcross FC – Celebrating 50 Years of Soccer in the Slieve Felims” contains articles pertaining to Club history, memorable victories, community spirit which enabled the purchase and development of Rearcross FC Grounds, in addition to profiles of neighbouring soccer Clubs in the Slieve Felims over the past five decades. Also included are entertaining and legendary stories of soccer activities in the region and changing lifestyles, overall a great cross sectional content as well as non-soccer articles, relating to landmarks in the locality, plus other information of local historical relevance.

FAI CEO John Delaney said “A glowing reflection of Rearcross FC and soccer in the Slieve Felims during the past 50 years, the facilities in Rearcross are a credit to the Club and the local Community. The book contains some iconic stories of association football in a rural Ireland setting over the past number of decades, an excellent publication by any standards”. The book was also reviewed by historian Tom Toomey who reflected “We that once were young need to say what it was, lest the world forget that it was”
